about me

Mike Isaacs and the San Diego skyline.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, moved to San Diego for about six years, lived in Korea for a little over a year, moved back to San Diego another two years, and now I have been back in the Bay Area for almost four years.
Much of the photography on this site was taken when I was out hiking. I got introduced to hiking from my father, who always loved to hike. Despite some long and grueling hikes when I was a youngster, he still managed to instill in me a love for nature.
The other photography is a random assortment of what I have encountered in my life. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “nature” as the external world in its entirety. Thus this site includes photography from the external world (not just the wilderness) as viewed through my lens.
I currently shoot with a Nikon D80 (and a few different lenses) but all of the older photos on this site were taken with my Canon PowerShot S45.
If any of these photos would make a good addition to your wall space, contact me about full sized prints.
Please feel free to email me with any questions about trips, any suggestions for the photography, or web site.
I hope that you enjoy looking at the photos posted here and that they inspire you to go out and enjoy drifting through nature as I do.
